Radio Shepton will be uniting people, events, interests  and music in and around the town.

As a start-up community radio station Radio Shepton will bring many new opportunities to the local residents and bring much needed exposure to individuals and groups who wish to publicise their activities and interests in an exciting and dynamic format.

By becoming a Shepton Radio Hero, you too can help us to make the lives of our local residents more colourful and really connect our community in a way that hasn't been done before! One minute, one hour, half a day, a whole day, one week: your time is going to really make a difference to your community. By joining our super team and completing the challenges set out on this site you can help us to raise awareness of our radio station, raise money to improve and publicise the radio station, learn new skills, meet new friends, and become part of a community of broadcasters. Radio Shepton Heroes is free to join, free to use and the best thing is, you can do your bit for charity without even leaving your home!

  • Radio Shepton is a great way to engage all community members from the general public, to disaffected youths, retired professionals and local organisations.
  • Radio Shepton will really helps to strengthen connections to local events and festivals in the surrounding area.
  • Radio Shepton will do live broadcasts and media streams, host and broadcast local bands and interview community members and organisations.
  • Radio Shepton will cover everything from Knit and Chat, to Alzheimer’s Support, Collet Park Festival to Shepton Carnival, NASS, Shopping, Fireworks Night, West Fest and of course the big one, Glastonbury Festival!
  • Radio Shepton will engage the support of its local community by providing roles in broadcast, live lounge, administration, finance, fund raising and radio and media in general. Radio Shepton will provide work placement roles for students and opportunities to connect with other local radio stations such.
  • Radio Shepton will be a great vehicle for airing the views of local people, seeking advice from the council, volunteer organisations or even the local police.
  • Radio Shepton will have a great mix of broadcasts to suit children, students, mums, dads, landed gentry and pensioners alike
